Ship on the St Lawrence River

St Lawrence RiverWe were sitting in the outdoor patio of the Blue Anchor just east of Cornwall, Ontario along the St Lawrence river. We saw this lake freighter heading up stream towards one of the great lakes. The Blue Anchor is a really great place to spend an afternoon enjoying the sun, having a cold drink and something to eat. You can enjoy the great food while gazing out on the river and watching the lake freighters head up or down the river. There are also many pleasure boats that cruise along the river or tie up at the Blue Anchors dock.

St Lawrence River – Perch Fillets

We always get the Lancaster Perch roll dinner when go there. Lancaster is famous for their perch and the restaurant cooks them just right and then adds their special sauce to make it an enjoyable meal. They offer many other meals as well, but this one is our favorite.

The Blue Anchor is located along old highway 2 east of Cornwall, perhaps 10 minutes past the golf course on the right hand side next to the river. This restaurant has been in existence for many years and serves really great food along with really great service. check out this restaurant nest time you are in the Cornwall area, especially in the summer time.  You cannot spend a better time sitting along the St. Lawrence River and enjoying the sun, cold beer and purchase fillets. If you’re going for lunch get there early because the parking lot fills up really quickly as does the outside patio .

We often go in late afternoon before the crowd arrives for supper and enjoy a cold beer. Then will head across the river  to the Akwesasne casino. For more restaurant reviews, click here.
