Why Should I Care About Body Mass Index? The answer is that this is just one more way of measuring or providing an indicator of your health. It suggests whether you are overweight or not for your body type and height. Many people may feel that they are overweight, however when you take into account their height they are not actually overweight at all. If you are under 25 you are considered to have a healthy weight. Anything over 25 is considered overweight. If you are over 30, then you are obese and if you are under 18.5, you are considered underweight. I certainly do not feel that I am close to being obese, but this is definitely a wake-up call for me.
With a BMI in higher levels, consumers can be susceptible to various health issues. for example, you could suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, diabetes or even varicose veins. These are serious health issues that can cause serious problems.
BMI will not tell you how to lose weight. BMI is just one more indicator that you probably should lose weight. It will come as no surprise that you need to get your BMI level down to a healthy level if you want to avoid the serious health issues mentioned earlier.
