Akwesasne Mohawk Casino
The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino is a great place to spend a day. We traveled from Ottawa to Cornwall and then crossed into the US at the Cornwall crossing. For one of the few times, there were no lines up into the US, and later on when we returned as well. It is a great day when you do not have to spend 30 minutes or longer waiting with your car idling until you get through customs to go to the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino.
At any rate, the day went really well since almost after the first half hour of gambling, I won $400 and although I really did not win anything after that, it is a nice way to start the day. Before we started gambling, I had breakfast at Sticks restaurant in the casino for $5.95 which included 2 eggs, bacon, home fries, toast, and coffee. A good deal especially when I used my slot card and only had to pay $2.00!
Akwesasne Mohawk Casino – Keno
After having breakfast, I played Keno for a while and this is where I won $400. What a nice feeling to arrive at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino and then win within the first 30 minutes. It takes all of the pressure off and lets you enjoy yourself for the rest of the day. I came home with $220 ahead, so all in all a good day. By the way, we also had a draft beer which is only a dollar! Compared to many bars this is a steel!
We also went to the buffet, which was half-price for seniors. It was really busy, but when your buffet for two people only costs $10, it is always a good deal. My wife does not care for the long lines and crowds, but I do not mind especially when the buffet is so good. They really do a nice job with their buffet.
We also stopped for gas and this is a really good deal as well. Not only is the gas much cheaper than it is in Canada, but they also give you a bridge pass so that you do not need to pay the $3.25 toll when you go back to Canada. You must purchase at least $30 worth of gas to get the pass, but then who doesn’t need $30 these days with the price of gas even in the US? I think I saved about $20 in gas and also the bridge pass as well.

I have a horror story to tell you…I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE EVER…I tried posting something on their facebook page but they naturally deleted it…so I will spread the word other ways…I was accused of cheating at cards back on August 28th 2008 and I was so so angry that not only have I never been back but neither has my father and my friend who was with us that day…I was up about $2k and another player sitting on the end of the table had about $14k…some idiot named Tony took me aside and told me to leave because I was playing too strong…I said to him quote: “oh, so you think Im cheating?” he laughingly said: “Who said anything about cheating?” according to him, it wasn’t about cheating yet he had a New York gaming official standing there and then this Tony Soprano wanna be said to me I will get a letter in 7 days determining whether I would be able to come back or not…and he said it wasn’t about cheating? then why would they HAVE to send me a letter then? I had done NOTHING wrong ever up to that point supposedly, so then why a letter deciding my fate if all I was asked to do was leave because I ONLY was playing strong? and NOT cheating??? doesn’t make any sense…anyway, they sent me a letter and when I got it I didn’t even open it…I BURNED IT…I WIN, THEY LOSE…HA HA HA!!!! and that’s why I will NEVER go back! I’ve never cheated on anything EVER…not even on a test in school…I would NOT disgrace my grandmother like that…she always taught me to be honest in everything and cheating never pays…I never forgot her words! anyway, to be accused of something I have never done before really hurt…Tony had to intimidate the guy sitting on the end by taking it out on me …he railroaded me and the people I was with…oh well, like I said before I WIN…THEY LOSE! THEY SUCK and they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN A CASINO! I hope everyone who goes there starts realizing what they’re doing to other innocent people…they can ill afford to treat people the way they treated me especially in such a bad economy! Its been 2 years almost to the day and I haven’t regretted burning that letter for one moment…I will continue on my crusade to make people aware of the intimadatig scare tactics they use…they must think they’re a bunch of mob bosses or something…have a great day!
