Swimming Pools And Home Security – New High Tech Developments By Deborah Nimmenstein
Can you believe that there was actually a time when security fences
around swimming pools weren't even mandatory? Back then, swimming
pool accidents involving children were far too common. In recent
decades though, communities around the globe have enacted measures
that require all swimming pools to contain a certain “minimum” level
of security on their perimeter and some require that alarms for
the swimming pool are built into their home alarm security system
as well.
New Technological Developments
However; the level of technology that is now available has moved well beyond what these basic security requirements stipulate. This has led many homeowners to go back and take a second look to see if there is more that they can do to protect any unsupervised children that may wander into their pool area. Of course, fences work but there is always that one child that can easily scale a fence and let their curiosity get the better of them.
Infrared-Motion Detectors
One of the most
common high tech security devices that is now being used on swimming pools is infrared-motion detectors. While it may sound like something out of a James Bond movie, they really aren't that big a deal now. All of your home security services carry them now and they are relatively inexpensive. Once in place, any child that enters your pool area will instantly sound an alarm no matter how small they are or how slow they are moving.
Day and Night Full Time Security
They have a range of thirty feet and function day or night, even during a rain storm. They are so accurate now that they can easily differentiate between a child and an animal such as a dog or a cat. Once they are purchased and installed to an audio alarm system they will function independent of a security service. This means that there is no need to pay a security service and you simply flip the “on” switch and the system is activated.
